A few pix for the blog...

While I didn't make any New Year's resolutions for posting on this blog, I decided, in 2019, to make a stab at updating more frequently than I did last year.

One of the obstacles is having photos to post. I often don't take my own camera to the set!

However, thanks to getting footage from a film I appeared in, back in 2017, and some pix from a fellow actor on a recent set, I decided to create a post. As it happens, for this most recent shoot, I DID for once take my own camera so I do have some location stills to add!

The above shows me as a 1990s newscaster. Now that I see this shot, I have to chuckle. I once did wear my hair that way!

Two shots from the skin care shoot. The top one shows me with the other actors.

We shot at a large house in Burlington, ON. Sometimes, it's probably just as well people don't see what is happening to their living room!

By the time there are eight or more cars parked on the forecourt, the neighbours have likely figured out something is going on!

No such thing as a free lunch? You bet there is- we got paid to eat!

Sunday a.m. & even the 401 is bearable!
In late August, I wrapped a shoot for a trade-show video, to promote a hearing aid product made by Unitron.

The shoot took place in Kitchener-Waterloo, in a rather lovely part of town, known as Belmont Village.

Setting up inside...
...and outside

The shoot was managed by Memory Tree Productions.

I'm showing a few stills taken, day of the shoot.

Yours truly, in the outfit that made the cut.

Not all talent had to provide their own wardrobe!

As with most non-union shoots, we had to provide our own wardrobe, meaning we were asked to bring 3 outfits appropriate for a fine dining scene. I'm wearing the dress and shoes the Art Director chose from my offerings.

Actors are just as good at waiting outside as inside

Actors perfecting the honorable art of waiting...

As well as the lovely weather, we all got to enjoy the scrumptious food prepared by the restaurant where the shoot took place, Janet Lynn's Bistro.

I also got to spend a great day chatting with my co-star, Andrew Bee. It helped that we had a number of interests in common, notably natural approaches to health!

Acting to get the word out!

Getting ready for the set
Most of the acting work I do is - surprisingly - in drama or comedies but, every once in a while, I land commercial or infomercial work.

During summer 2012, I appeared in a luggage commercial destined for TV in the Chinese mainland, of all places. I didn't have my camera with me, so no shots of that but if I ever get the promised DVD, maybe I'll upload some footage.

I also landed the role of  Research Engineer for a Haan infomercial that I believe is set to air, sometime, in the US.

Getting ready for the director to say 'Action"
For this role, I had to speak English with a German accent.

The director fed me my lines as we went along, so I not only had to remember the line, I had to produce it back in accented form! A classic example of multi-tasking!

The Haan shoot took place on a Saturday morning and was wonderfully efficient. The call time was for 8 a.m. and my role was wrapped shortly after 11 a.m.
Production Co-ordinator Adam - at the ready!

I'm showing some 'behind-the-scenes' photos, including me in make-up as well as pix of crew members.
